The
tower is situated right in the heart of Yibin City. The present DaGuan
Tower is a mere 230 years old. There has been two other towers on this
site previously. The first one was raised in 1522. The war that later
destroyed this tower also brought down the Ming dynasty. The second tower
was toppled at some point during the Qing KangXi dynasty.
Naturally,
the tower is a famous Yibin landmark. In its museum section the tower
holds two very beautiful old calligraphic plaques. Two floors of the tower
have been converted into a tastefully decorated, traditional Chinese tea
saloon. A good place to visit for a pleasant break and a sip of our fragrant
Yibin tea. Sounds good? It is!
