It should be the best of Yibin, in Changling & Jiang'an county, it's one of the "National Stage Tour Spots" which have been announced in 1988.

If you love natural vistas, unfettered by the presence of human constructs, you will appreciate a walk through the Bamboo Sea. Though "through" is not the right word, even a day of walking you will not get completely through. There are in excess of five hundred rolling hills here, the petrified waves of the Bamboo Sea. The Sea itself covers a 120 sq kilometers with scenic foot paths for you to follow. Other plants beside bamboo grow here, and rare animals live among the stems. This lush green haven enjoys a special climate, warm in winter - never below freezing, cool in summer, even when Yibin is sweltering.

The Bamboo Sea holds some special attractions, good places to rest if you weary of walking, these places are mainly situated along the main road and do not to intrude upon the natural beauty of the forest. TianHuang Temple; TianBao Stockade Village on the cliff; Black Dragon Lake; Rainbow Waterfall; Ancient Battlefield; The Cloud-View Pavilion; Jade Veranda, Camellia Mountain, Flower Rivulet.

There is also a tour spot in the Bamboo Sea - the Xianyu cave and its hand chiseled channel. There are some forty Buddha statuettes within the cave. The cave and the channel run some 200 meters through the mountain. If you climb atop the cave mountain, as many do, you will be rewarded by the magnificent view of the Bamboo Sea spread below your feet, and, weather permitting, you can look down on wispy clouds drifting above the Bamboo Sea.
